AUBURN, AL (January 28, 2022) — Today, NIL-Auburn is excited to announce that former Auburn legend and NFL quarterback Jason Campbell has joined the ownership team and will serve as General Manager of Football. Campbell was a member of the Auburn football team from 2001 to 2004 where he amassed over 7,200 yards passing and 54 total touchdowns in his career. During his time at Auburn, Campbell was a key part of Auburn’s undefeated 2004 season that resulted in an SEC Championship and Sugar Bowl victory, as well as Campbell being named 2004 SEC Offensive Player of the Year.
In the 2005 NFL Draft, Campbell became one of four Tigers taken in the first round as the Washington Redskins selected him 25th overall. Over the next nine seasons, Campbell would play for the Washington Redskins, Oakland Raiders, Chicago Bears, Cleveland Browns and Cincinnati Bengals while totaling over 16,700 yards and 93 total touchdowns across his 90 career games, including 79 starts.
As NIL-Auburn continues to build the team necessary to serve Auburn athletes, it became apparent that the addition of Campbell, with his extensive athletic experience and knowledge of the college and professional game, was necessary for the growth of the NIL-Auburn. “We are excited to bring Jason on board,” said NIL-Auburn Founder Rick Davidson. “Due to his time at Auburn and in the NFL, he is perfectly positioned to connect with our student-athletes and help guide them during their time at Auburn. Jason’s time in the NFL, working with contracts and sponsorships, gives us a unique perspective of the athletic market that can be shared with all of our clients.”
“I’m excited about coming on board with NIL-Auburn,” said Campbell. “And the opportunity it presents to help guide our student-athletes and the Auburn family!”
